22 and 23 June is the Fusion weekend at West Dean Gardens, West Sussex


Fusion is a new event at West Dean that is running on 22 and 23 June, from 10:30am - 6pm.

If you're into art or craft of any kind then this is an event not to miss, whether you want to expand your current craft skills or want to have a go at something new. Set in the beautiful grounds of the West Dean Estate, this weekend is packed with the best of West Dean arts and crafts college. 

There'll be free drop in workshops and demonstrations in themed tents, a shed trail, entertainment, stalls, tours of West Dean Gardens (Saturday) and the annual opening of the house (Sunday). 

You can also book yourself onto extra workshops with top art and craft tutors from the college. It's best to book these in advance to avoid disappointment. Adult workshops (12+) last 90 minutes and cost £8, and children's workshops (age 5 - 12 years, with under 8s accompanied by an adult) last 45 minutes and cost £5. 

Workshops include woodcut printing, drawing, photography, watercolour painting, printmaking, Chinese brush painting, felt making, patchworking, recycling with rags, hand embrodiery, sewing, making hat pins, silk painting, book binding, ring linking, basketry, jewellery, ring making, wire sculpture, mosaic making, and more! 

You can buy early bird tickets to the weekend now, until 15 June, for £8.60 for adults and 90p for children.
