Our Purl About Town
Who are you and what do you do for Knitting magazine?
Hey there! I'm Laura 'Purl Princess' Parkinson and I write the Purl About Town column each month for Knitting.
What is the best thing about working for Knitting magazine?
Getting to witter on about whatever knitting news takes my fancy each month. "Oooh! Knitting and Wimbledon you say?" "What's all that Grafitti knitting about then?" "Knitted breast-feeding aids?" Whatever next?
When and how did you get into knitting (the craft, not the mag!)?
Mum taught me when I was a wee one. I promptly left it behind in my teens only to pick it up again in 2005 when I finished University and realised that there was nothing creative in my life. Knitting has been part of my daily existence ever since.
When I'm not busy being part of Team Knitting I'm…
A Project Manager at a boutique Market Research agency.
Describe your crafty self in three words:
Opinionated Baking Knitter
If you could only use one yarn and/or one stitch for the rest of your life what would it be?
Softer than soft alpaca and texture filled seed stitch.
