Finished all your Christmas knitting? Join the Great Christmas Knit-In!

If you've finished all your Christmas knitting and are looking for something else to cast on over the Christmas/New Year period, there is a whole world out there - literally - who would benefit from your knitting.

Knit for Peace are inviting people to join in their big Knit-In this Christmas, to help kit out people in need all over the world whilst taking part in a national community event. They want baby clothes, children's jumpers, lap blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, bed socks and even cardigans for grown ups which are then sent to poor communities, refugee drop in centres and destitution centres in the UK and to projects in Eastern Europe, Africa, Afghanistan and India.

Check out the 'Projects & Patterns' page on the Knit for Peace website where you will find details of who needs what knitted items as well as lots of free knitting patterns, from teddies and blankets to premature baby hats and hand puppets.

Send your donated knitted items to the below address and give the gift of knitting!
